For therapeutic indication and preventive aspects cleansing/purification treatment is advised by the ayurvedic physician on thorough clinical examination and assessment of all clinical parameters, including pathological investigation and diagnostics. Panchakarma is advised on rogi – patient and rog – disease condition assessment and is aimed at dosha equilibrium by eliminating toxins/impurities thereby enhancing body defence mechanism/ immunity. The disease condition/dosha imbalance may ask for more than 1 panchakarma treatment at a time and or after a specific interval. For those whose disease and body condition contradicts classical panchakarma, like those suffering from chronic, debilitating disease Keraliya panchakarma is suggested.
